Note: League Age 8 year old players may be placed in our 10U Division based on evaluation.

8U Division Description: Players ages 6-8 will learn the fundamentals of softball through fun and engaging practices and games. Games are played using a combination of hitting from a tee and coach pitch. No score will be kept. Softball pitching will be introduced over the course of the season with the possibility of kid pitch. Generally, teams will be kept small to allow for a better coach-to-player ratio. Teams may practice 1-2 times per week and play 1-2 games per week. The game schedule includes approximately 8-10 games which are all played in Westfield at Sadie Knox. League age 8 year-olds are eligible to be selected to an All-Star Team.

10U Division Description: Players ages 8-10 will continue to advance their softball skills through practices and games. Games are played exclusively with player pitch with run limits used. Coaches are encouraged to balance playing time and rotate players to different positions throughout the season. Teams will be primarily made up of 9 and 10 year-olds, but 8 year olds may play, depending upon skill level and roster availability. Teams may practice 1-2 times per week and play 1-3 games per week. The game schedule includes at least 12 games and does include travel to nearby towns as part of district level league. The season culminates in a bracket-style playoff among competing towns. All players are eligible to be selected to an All-Star Team.

Players will be playing a traditional softball game format, pitching from the high school pitching distance. Coaches are encouraged to balance playing time and rotate players to different positions throughout the season. Teams will primarily be made up of 13 and 14 year olds, but 12 year olds may play depending upon skill level and roster availability. Teams may practice 1-2 times per week and play 1-3 games per week. The game schedule includes at least 12 games and does include travel to nearby towns as part of district level league. The season culminates in a bracket-style playoff among competing towns. All players are eligible to be selected to an All-Star Team.
